President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he would nominate White House deputy chief of staff Kirstjen Nielsen to be the next secretary of Homeland Security.

Nielsen will replace John Kelly, who left the Department of Homeland Security this summer to be Trump's chief of staff. Nielsen was Kelly's top aide at the department, and she is a cybersecurity expert and an attorney.
